Two US citizens were arrested by the Manila Police District after dumping a dead woman’s body at Pasig River last Sunday, December 23.
The suspects, Troy Woody Jr., 21, and Mir Islam, 22 booked a driver through a transport network vehicle service provider from Woody’s residence at Barangay Highway Hills, Mandaluyong City.
The driver said that the two loaded a huge brown box in his trunk and asked to be first dropped at the Baseco Compound instead of the trip’s original destination. There, he saw the two dump the box into the river, as per the report from Inquirer.
After the driver dropped the two to the original drop-off point, he then reported the suspicious activity to the Manila Police General Assignment and Investigation Section and and they were referred to the Ermita Police Station.
The MPD Homicide Team worked together with the Mandaluyong City Police Station to hold a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of Woody and Islam.
The driver then positively identified both suspects after they were taken to the station.
Woody and Islam were turned over to the Mandaluyong City Police Station, which is under the jurisdiction of the Eastern Police District.
The authorities identified the victim as Tomi Michelle Masters, 23, also a US citizen from Indiana, after recovering the box. The victim reportedly lived in the same condo unit with Woody.
