Police officers in Dumaguete City nabbed a former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) after being caught with 15 packets of suspected methamphetamine or shabu during an anti-illegal drugs operation in the city.
The suspected shabu peddler, Arniel Repe, was found an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of around Php885,000.
The suspected drug peddler was arrested during a buy-bust operation by joint operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG-7) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Camanjac, Dumaguete City.
Recovered from the 36-year-old ex-OFW were the buy-bust money, a cellular phone and one Honda XRM motorcycle allegedly used in the nefarious activity of the suspect.
The suspect admitted that he personally went to Consolacion, Cebu on Sunday, November 25, 2018, to deliver the narcotics to Dumaguete during the city fiesta.
PDEA, thru their website, encourages the general public to report suspected illegal drug activities to authorities such as PDEA, PNP or NBI. For Filipinos abroad who are being targeted to be drug-peddlers or drug mules, OFWs can report to the nearest Philippine Embassy.
