An Asian man (nationality withheld by authorities) was arrested after tricking a male bank staff to steal money before escaping.
The police said on Sunday, October 28, that the suspect was tracked by Abu Dhabi Police when he went to a money exchange house to convert the stolen dollars into dirhams.
The suspect admitted to the crime and was referred to Public Prosecution for further legal action, reported Gulf News.
Meanwhile, Brigadier Al Khaili advised banks and money exchange employees not to let their guards down to prevent such fraudulent acts from happening.
He also urged them to immediately report dubious activities to help arrest the criminals.
