Amid resignation calls, Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña will be moved to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority as its director-general, said President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, October 25.
“Si General Lapeña will move to TESDA. I will promote you to a Cabinet member position,” Duterte said in a speech during the anniversary of the Philippine Coast Guard.
Lapeña is set to replace resigned TESDA Director General Guiling Mamandiong who filed his candidacy for governor in Bohol for the 2019 polls.
Earlier today, Lapeña stressed that he will not quit from his position in Customs, despite admitting that the recovered empty magnetic lifters in August have possibly contained P11-billion worth of shabu.
Meanwhile, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) administrator Rey Leonardo Guerrero will lead the Bureau of Customs (BOC), Duterte added.
