The Duty Free Philippines Corp. opened Luxe Duty Free at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.
Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat graced the inauguration on October 17, together with the Duty Free Philippines Corp. honchos, SMDC Chairman and CEO Henry Sy, Jr. and SM Supermalls officials.
“We are pleased to launch the Luxe, one of Duty Free’s world-class outlet stores in the Philippines that will cater to our balikbayans, tourists and frequent travelers,” said Romulo-Puyat.
Duty Free Philippines Corp. Chief Operating Officer Vicente Angala said that the Luxe will help in “boosting Philippine tourism and will contribute to economic growth,” an overall objective by the Department of Tourism.
In a statement, Angala said that the multi-level 3,600-square meter Luxe Duty Free store will feature international luxury fashion brands including fragrance and cosmetic products.
The shops “will carry a wide selection of high end imported goods and retail mix that will capture brands across all spectrums – from luxury designer labels like Bally and Ferragamo to mid-priced fashion labels like Coach and Michael Kors.”
Other brands to be featured in the luxury shop include Longchamp, Kate Spade, Chanel, Estee Lauder, La Mer, La Prairie, Clarins, Mac, Dior, Lancome, Laneige, Bobbi Brown, Tom Ford, Jo Malone, Sulwhasoo, and Shiseido, among many others.
“This new upscale shopping environment will set a standard for the affluent market especially in Southeast Asian countries,” Angala said.
