Authorities on Monday, October 1, arrested an overseas Filipina worker (OFW) for being a member of a large-scale illegal recruitment scheme in Roxas, Isabela.
The suspect, identified as 48 year old Joanna Bedania Abrera, was nabbed in Sitio Caragsakan, Brgy. Rizal, Roxas, Isabela after returning home from working abroad, reported RMN.
Roxas Police Chief Inspector Engelbert Bunagan said that the authorities took advantage of Abrera’s vacation in the country and immediately issued a warrant of arrest against her leading to her arrest.
The police said her arrest had been elusive for years as she was hiding abroad.
Abrera is facing a charge for large-scale illegal recruitment without fine.
