A Saudi Arabian failed to break the Guinness World Record for most bees to cover his body. Zuhair Amin Fattani planned to surpass the current record of 63.7 kilograms of bees to stick onto his body but failed when he postponed halfway the attempt.
He arranged for an experiment and contacted Guinness for the world record attempt. However, he fell ill after 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Fattani, who is an official of the Mecca Beekeepers Association, managed to have 49 kilograms, equivalent to 343,000 bees to flock onto his body.
Fattani said that he is very fond of bees and did not mind the hundreds of stings he received during the experiment.
Despite the incident, the beekeeper said that he will not give up and try again when the circumstances are right. He attributed the failure to the queen bee’s flying out and taking a huge chunk of the hive with her, reported Al Arabiya.
