President Rodrigo Duterte is set to meet with His Majesty King Abdullah II and the FIlipino community in Jordan in September, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
The meeting is a part of Duterte’s official visit to Jordan from September 5 to 8, 2018.
“The official visit of the President reaffirms and renews the Philippines’ ties with Jordan. The President will hold talks with King Abdullah II on broadening cooperation in key areas to advance shared aspirations for greater peace, progress and prosperity,” DFA said in a statement.
The meeting between Duterte and King Abdulah II will also cover other sectors concerning both the Philippines and Jordan.
Duterte is also expected to meet with businessmen from both the Philippines and Jordan to explore trade and investment sectors for the economy.
Moreover, Duterte will also visit Filipino communities in the country to check on their situation and well-being.
Duterte’s visit to Jordan is historical as it is the first time that a Philippine president will visit the Middle Eastern country.
