A 22-year-old Filipino household helper in Dubai was accused of molesting her 8-year-old European ward who suffers from autism and speech difficulties.
The Dubai Court of First Instance heard on Wednesday the case of the Filipina woman who allegedly took of her shirt in front of the child and made him fondle her, reported Khaleej Times.
The boy’s 43-year-old French mother said that the defendant worked for them as a nanny for about four months until she decided to terminate her due to bad behavior.
After the mother fired the Filipina and sent her back to the agency, she said that she noticed a change in the behavior of her son. The complainant said that her child suddenly started acting aggressively and would touch her inappropriately when she took him for shower.
The complainant added that she even took her son to special therapists to know the reason behind his sudden change of personality.
The Frenchwoman said that she found out about the abuse from another maid. An Ethiopian maid who works for the complainant said that she saw the Filipina nanny take advantage of the boy several times when his mother was out of the country.
The Filipina pleaded not guilty before the court saying that she did not commit such accusations.
The court ruling will be pronounced on July 25.
