The first prototype of the proposed Hyperloop pods, which will run at the speed of 700mph, has been revealed to the public.
As posted by Dubai Media Office on their Twitter account, the futuristic mode of transportation in the UAE will be able to take a passenger from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in just 12 minutes.
Once completed, the said pods will run faster than a commercial passenger aircraft that travels an average speed of around 475–500 knots or 546–575mph.
It will cut the travelling time from the two emirates which would normally take around an hour and a half.
The said project is expected to save an estimated $800 million in lost working hours.
The clip showed the prototype of the pods, adorned with the logo of the Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA), and its ‘comfy’ interior.

The clip also shows that developments for the said project, including its studies and tests, might take up five more years before the pods become a reality.
Earlier this year, a Hyperloop commuter pod was first introduced during the UAE Innovation Exhibit.
