A chef beat up his assistant in an eatery in Parañaque City on Monday night, April 30, after the latter ate a piece of “chicharon” from the kitchen table.
According to chief investigator of Parañaque Police Senior Insp. Jerry Sunga, the chef, identified as 27-year-old Chinese national Wang Yongbin, beat up his assistant and waitress Rutchel Taer at around 7:40 in the evening at Reyes Eatery on Quirino Avenue, reported Inquirer.
Wang punched Taer before pinning her down the floor. Coworkers who were at the scene quickly came to Taer’s defense and restrained Wang.
Taer allegedly “took and ate one piece of chicharon from the table [which] made the offender angry”.
The beating left Taer with chest injuries.
Upon investigation, authorities learned that the Chinese national did not have a working visa and passport despite being in the country for a year.
Wang will be charged with slight physical injuries punishable by up to 30 days in prison.
