A Filipino nabbed for molestation charges after he allegedly kissed a female colleague, has been cleared by the Dubai Court of First Instance.
The Dubai Court of First Instance has cleared the man of charges even after the public prosecution recommended to the court that the highest possible penalty be inflicted upon him, Khaleej Times reported.
The 33-year-old defendant was accused by a 24-year-old Filipina colleague, who described him as her work supervisor.
“At 1pm on December 31, 2017, we were together heading to the Metro station in Al Rashidiyah to meet a client,” the victim said.
“I left him to see the client and after the meeting, I rejoined my supervisor at the same Metro station. He then told me he had a gift for me. He wanted me to close my eyes for the surprise. I found he had a hair clip for me and I thanked him for it. He then decided he had another gift for me and when I opened my eyes I was surprised by him suddenly kissing me,” the Filipina added.
The victim said she pushed and slapped the victim before rushing out of the Metro station and reported the incident to authorities at the Al Rashidiyah police station.
The accused admitted to the charge during interrogation.
