Authorities nab 4 illegal recruiters of fake job offers in New Zealand

The Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested four alleged illegal recruiters who promised non-existing jobs in New Zealand.

The four suspects were identified as Cristina Limun, Nathaniel Camacho, Edith Rico, and Marivel Equio.

The suspects were arrested in separate operations organized by the CIDG Anti-Transnational Crimes Unit (ATCU), reported ABS-CBN.

Limun and Camacho were nabbed in an entrapment operation in Sucat, Parañaque while Rico was arrested in Quezon City. Meanwhile, the suspected leader of the group, Equio, was arrested in Manila.

The entrapment operations were organized following the filing of complaints of 13 victims of the group. According to the victims, they were promised with farm and factory jobs in New Zealand. They were also asked to pay Php 60,000 that will serve as their placement fee, medical fee, and processing fee.
