Local recruitment agency EDI-Staffbuilders International, Inc. announced that Filipinos who wish to work in Czech Republic need not need to pay for their placement fees should they be hired.
Aside from a minimum monthly compensation of $600 (more than P31,000), employers will shoulder the transportation fee from the Philippines to Czech Republic and the worker’s accommodation during employment.
President and CEO of the recruitment agency, Cesar Averia Jr., said that Czech employers prefer Filipino workers since Filipinos are hard workers.
“They love the Filipinos because the Filipinos are really well-known as very hard workers. Ang maganda pa nito, may capability tayo ng English [language],” Averia said.
Czech Republic is currently in need of 1,000 workers due to lack of labor force.
Some of the jobs available in Czech Republic include:
• Warehouse workers
• Repair and debug operators
• Butchers
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has yet to release other job vacancies in the European country.
Qualifications for the job include fluency in speaking the English language and three to four years of prior work experience.
Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are also encouraged to apply. They only need to submit a police clearance from the countries they’ve worked in.
The POEA, however, reminded that direct hiring or application without the support of a recruitment agency is not allowed as the country is still waiting for a bilateral labor agreement between the Philippines and Czech Republic.
The agreement seeks to protect the rights of OFWs in the foreign land.
“As much as possible, we do not allow deployment of workers to a labor-receiving country na wala tayong bilateral labor agreement or any mutual agreement na kung nasaan ang full protection ng ating workers,” said POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia.
POEA added that the administration is currently looking at possible broader deployment of OFWs to the European country.
