Gas cylinder gets costlier for UAE residents

ABU DHABI: LPG cylinders are set to cost more for the rest of the month as ADNOC Distribution has set the new retail price for unsubsidized LPG cylinders.

The new retail price for a 25lb cylinder is Dh49, up from the earlier marked retail price of Dh46, and Dh98 per unit for a 50lb cylinder, up from Dh92, reported Khaleej Times, adding that the LPG prices are revised on the 10th of every month.

“The prices of LPG cylinders is decided every month based on specialized studies, taking into account the interests of consumers and household customers in the UAE, while keeping up with the changing prices for the product worldwide. In cooperation with the concerned entities in the country, ADNOC Distribution is also keen to apply the new prices economically, which preserves the rights of all stakeholders,” Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, acting chief executive Officer of ADNOC Distribution, reportedly said.

For holders of Rahal e-Gas cards, ADNOC Distribution offers LPG at subsidized prices – Dh20 for 25lb and Dh30 for 50lb, across Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates, said the Dubai-based news portal.
