UAE forms national committee to document alleged Iranian aggression and war damages

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued Resolution No. 4 of 2026 establishing a national committee tasked with documenting alleged Iranian acts of aggression, international crimes, and resulting damages affecting the United Arab Emirates.

Under the resolution, the committee will be chaired by the UAE Attorney General and will oversee the documentation of attacks and their impact on UAE territory, citizens, residents, and visitors. Authorities said the move reflects the country’s institutional approach to recording violations based on legal and technical standards recognized internationally.

The committee will include representatives from key federal ministries and local agencies, bringing together judicial, security, technical, and economic bodies to strengthen coordination and ensure comprehensive documentation.

According to the resolution, the committee is authorized to work with national and international experts and specialists while complying with the UAE Constitution, domestic laws, and internationally accepted standards for documenting international crimes.

Its mandate includes monitoring and documenting military attacks linked to the alleged Iranian aggression, verifying the circumstances surrounding each incident, and compiling a detailed national record of events.

The body will also assess human, material, and economic losses using approved technical methodologies and document casualties and injuries based on official records and verified data.

In addition, the committee will gather and analyze evidence, documents, and technical, engineering, medical, and forensic reports while ensuring the integrity and legal chain of custody of both physical and digital evidence.

The resolution also calls for the establishment of a technical secretariat responsible for implementing the committee’s decisions and managing a secure central database for storing and classifying evidence and reports.

Officials said the database will use advanced systems designed to protect data integrity, prevent tampering, track access and modifications, maintain backups, and preserve documentation trails.

The UAE said the initiative reinforces its commitment to the rule of law, protection of human rights, and efforts to support accountability through evidence-based legal documentation at both national and international levels.
