The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has achieved the highest mobile internet speed worldwide in June, boasting an impressive download speed of 204.24 Mbps and an upload speed of 22.72 Mbps.
In a statement released on Thursday, Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index, a web service analyzing Internet access performance metrics, reported the remarkable performance.
Throughout the first half of 2023, January to June, the UAE consistently secured the top position in global rankings, with only April placing it in the second spot.
In terms of fixed broadband speed, the UAE continues to shine, ranking second globally while claiming the top spot regionally and among Arab countries in June, with a download speed of 239.2 Mbps. Singapore led the fixed broadband list with a speed of 247.29 Mbps.
Meanwhile, quarterly reports from Ookla highlighted etisalat by e& as the provider with the fastest median download speeds in both mobile and fixed services during Q2 2023, reaching an impressive 216.65 Mbps and 261.98 Mbps, respectively. Further, etisalat by e& delivered the swiftest median 5G download speed at 680.88 Mbps, and the lowest median mobile multi-server latency at 35 ms.
