Manny Villar remains richest Filipino in Forbes billionaire’s list

Billionaire and former senator Manny Villar is still the country’s richest Filipino in the Philippines according to the list released by Forbes in its World’s Billionaires List for 2022.

19 other Filipino billionaires joined Villar in the list. This is up from 17 billionaires last year.

Villar’s estimated net worth ballooned to $8.3 billion  this year — over $1 billion higher than his reported total assets of $7.2 billion in 2021.

Villar ranks 263rd among global billionaires according to the list. He previously ranked at 352.

Ports magnate Enrique Razon followed Villar in the country’s richest list with $6.7B in assets.

Henry Sy Jr., co-vice chairman of SM Investments, landed at third with $2.8B in total assets.

Andrew Tan of Alliance Global ranks fourth in the richest list with $2.8B.

Sy siblings Hans and Herbert Sy tied at the fifth for the richest list.

Harley and Teresita Coson Sy were at the seventh and eighth places.

Elizabeth Sy is at ninth place while  San Miguel Corporation COO Ramon Ang rounded up the Top 10 list.

  • 2,190 – Tony Tan Caktiong, $1.3 billion
  • 2,324 – Betty Ang, $1.2 billion

  • 2,578 – Nari Genomal, $1 billion
  • 2,578 – Ramesh Genomal, $1 billion
  • 2,578 – Sunder Genomal, $1 billion
  • 2,578 – Roberto Ongpin, $1 billion
  • 2,578 – Dennis Anthony Uy, $1 billion
