The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has warned people of job loss and a fine of Php 500,000 for refusal to honor the Philippine Identification (PhilID) card.
Under the Republic Act No. 11055 or the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Act, the PhilID serves as the country’s national ID and is a valid proof of identity that must be accepted in all transactions.
