1,721 vehicles, e-scooters, cycles seized in Dubai – find out their violations here

The Dubai Police have seized 1,721 vehicles, motorcycles, electric scooters, and bicycles last year for several violations of traffic rules.

The confiscation was part of a traffic campaign launched by Al Muraqqabat Police Station which ensured zero road deaths and reduced traffic accidents in the area.

Major-General Ali Ghanim, director of Al Muraqqabat Police Station, said people were fined for rash driving, using vehicles without number plates, modifying a vehicle’s engine and driving an unsafe vehicle.

He added that cyclists were riding in undesignated areas and without wearing helmets and reflective jackets.

The officer called on cyclists and motorists to fully adhere to the traffic rules to avoid road accidents and deaths. (AW)
