Abu Dhabi has approved restrictions on crowds from July 19 during Eid Al Adha as part of precautionary measures for public safety.
The Emergency Committee of Abu Dhabi declared that only 50 percent capacity crowd of people will be allowed in public beaches, public parks, beaches, and swimming pools, restaurants and cafes, gyms and spas in hotels.

Buses and public ferries also will operate at 50 percent capacity, while only three passengers will be permitted in a five-passenger taxi and four people in a seven-passenger taxi.
Shopping malls have been asked to ensure 40 percent customers, while cinema capacity has been reduced to 30 percent only.

Meanwhile, the Committee has advised the emirate’s residents to refrain from social gatherings and instead interact ‘virtually’ with friends and others, while also observing all precautionary measures including frequent hand washing, wearing masks, and social distancing.
Meanwhile, the committee also announced on July 15 the launch of the National Sterilisation Programme in Abu Dhabi — from July 19 between midnight and 5.00 a.m. during which time there will be no transportation services, besides the movement of traffic and the public being restricted. (AW)
