Filipina housemaid killed in Sharjah

Sharjah Police is investigating the death of a 40-year-old domestic worker in the emirate.

The Filipina housemaid was killed after a heated conversation with her employer, according to reports from TFC News.

The incident was reported to Sharjah Police in June 24.

The victim was identified as Maria Shiegrid Sanchez Santos, who hails from Pampanga.

Santos’ visa is scheduled to expire in August this year. Her husband is already informed about the gruesome incident.

The employer of Santos is currently detained along with three locals involved in the crime, TFC reported.

The victim’s body is currently at CID Mortuary in Sharjah.

Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Philippine Consulate in Dubai and the Northern Emirates have extended their condolences to the family of Santos. The PCG assured the bereaved family that they will do their best to seek justice for the death of the Filipino domestic worker.

The consulate is also coordinating with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and law enforcement agencies for the investigation. (RA)
