Davao prepares 600 quarantine rooms for repatriated overseas Filipinos

As many as 600 rooms in 16 hotels are being readied to quarantine inbound international passengers in Davao, in coordination with health and tourism authorities.

The Davao City government stated that the quarantine arrivals are welcome developmentS that will boost economic activity.

City Tourism Operations Officer Generose D. Tecson affirmed that all quarantine processes are in place at the airport and hotels.

Local government officials, regional representatives of the Department of Tourism, and the Health department’s Bureau of Quarantine had checked the hotel facilities over the past two weeks, she added.

While Davao airport was reopened to all flights on May 5, last week witnessed 99 Filipino seamen arriving at Davao International Airport via a Garuda Airlines chartered flight from Fiji.

These people are currently staying in accredited quarantine hotels during the required 10-day isolation period, as part of the national policy. (AW)
