Former President Joseph Erap Estrada has recovered from the coronavirus disease.
Erap will also be discharged according to his son former senator Jinggoy Estrada.
“Our family is overjoyed to announce that our father will finally be discharged from the hospital today,” Jinggoy said in a Facebook post.

He also thanked the doctors and nurses who also took good care of him.
“We would like to express our gratitude to his doctors for their expertise and care.
We would like to thank everyone who prayed with us and supported us through this harrowing experience,” he said.
Erap returned to the intensive care unit (ICU) due to a “bacterial lung infection” last April 16.

“He has been brought back to the regular ICU (non-COVID-19) for monitoring and support of his blood pressure which fluctuated due to the said infection,” the former senator wrote in a Facebook post.
“But overall, he is stable with high flow oxygen support,” Jinggoy added said last week. (TDT)
