The brother of a slain Filipina worker in Abu Dhabi revealed that she was supposed to come home last July 2020 after working in the UAE for two years.
The plan however did not push through since Mary Anne Daynolo went missing in March 2020.
“Matagal na po niya hinihintay na makauwi siya. Lagi namin pinag uusapan iyan hanggang sa huling gabi na nakausap ko siya,” Cedric Madrigalejo said in an interview.

The brother added that his sister said that she was frustrated with her work and plans to find another job in Abu Dhabi.
“Wala naman po siyang nasasabi na kaaway niya o kagalit niya. Gusto niya lang po talaga makaalis na sa work niya and makahanap ng ibang trabaho,” Cedric said.
Mary Anne went to the UAE in 2018 via tourist visa. She, later on, found a job in a hotel in Abu Dhabi and processed her status to become a legal overseas Filipino worker.
Cedric described his sister as selfless and would always prioritize her family no matter what.
“Sobrang sakit po nang nangyari hindi niya talaga deserve ang ginawa sa kanya,” he added.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said that UAE authorities conducted a full-blown investigation and arrested the suspect for the crime.
“The suspect who was currently under police custody was Ms. Daynolo’s colleague at the hotel they are working in,” the DFA said. (TDT)
