The parochial vicar of Quiapo Church in a now-viral clip admitted that the Hijos del Nazareno or Son of the Nazarene broke protocols on physical distancing on Saturday.
In an interview with Teleradyo, Fr. Douglas Badong said he admitted that he made a mistake when he sprinkled holy water to devotees of the Black Nazarene.
Badong added that the original instruction was for people to stay at their place and they will be the one who will go near the people.
The viral video showed people going to the center island to sprinkle holy water and flocked to the Hijos del Nazareno.
As a precautionary measure, the priest heed to what health experts suggest that those who participated in the activity last Saturday should undergo self-quarantine. (ES)
