A speeding motorist has died and killed two others in a car accident in Umm Al Quwain on September 20, police said.
The driver was said to have lost control of his vehicle due to his excessive speed, ending up traversing against the flow of traffic and crashing into another car on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road at 1:30 AM.
He was instantly killed, along with two UAE nationals who were in the other car.
“The motorist who caused the accident was speeding and lost control of his vehicle, causing it to crash and go against the flow of traffic,” The National quoted Col Saeed Obaid, director of Umm Al Quwain Police Traffic and Patrols Department, as saying.
“When that happened, he collided with the car, which was coming from Dubai and heading to Ras Al Khaimah.”
The director reminded motorists to be careful and not speed on the road to prevent car accidents.
