A 70-year-old grandmother in Lambunao, Iloilo proved that she could move mountains and age is just a number after finishing a college degree.
Lola Marina Loloy’s college teacher extolled her achievement in a Facebook post.
Her teacher, MJ Latorza Fernandez, posted Lola Marina’s graduation pictures on her Facebook account after the latter successfully finished a bachelor’s degree in Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the West Visayas State University-Calinog Campus.
“Age doesn’t hinder you to achieve what is your dreams in life,” said the teacher in the caption.
Fernandez said Lola Marina was a good student during her college stint.
“She was bullied last time of wearing uniform because she is already old. But I still encouraged her to wear and don’t mind those who bullied,” Fernandez said.
She added that the 70-year-old grandma wanted to serve inspiration among her classmates.
“Because what’s important is she is a good model to her classmates,” Fernandez added.
