The UAE Hope Probe successfully launched off from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan last July 20 at 1:58 am, witnessed by millions of individuals from around the world.
The Arab region’s first interplanetary mission is now the UAE’s legacy for many generations to come proving to the world that the country can achieve and accomplish these feats despite global challenges such as the pandemic.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said that this is the testament of the country’s vision of progress towards the generations to come.
“The Hope Probe represents a turning point for the Arab and Islamic world in the space sector. Reaching Mars is not only a scientific goal; it also sends a message to our future generation that we are capable, and nothing is impossible with hope,” said His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.
The Emirates Mars Mission is expected to land on the red planet by February 2021, in time for the UAE’s celebrations for its golden jubilee.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre and the General Supervisor of the Hope Probe, praised the Hope Probe Team—noting how they have shown that nothing is impossible, no matter what the circumstance may be.
“You lead the future and you represent the UAE’s hopes in the emerging phase. You must transfer your knowledge to other sectors in the country because sharing knowledge and success storeys are the heart of this project,” said His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.
