First Saudi cinema opens in Jeddah

The first national-owned and operated cinema opened in Jeddah last Friday, Saudi Gazette reported.

Another history in the entertainment sector was made last weekend as the kingdom opens the first Muvi Cinema to the public at Mall of Arabia, inaugurated by by Saudi Minister of Media Turki bin Abdullah Al Shabanah.

The cinema, the first of the planned 250 ones to be launched in the next two years, can accommodate 1950 guests in its 15 screens, and has 21 seats for persons of determination.

Muvi Cinema’s features include Barcho high-resolution screens, Dolby Atmos surround system, seats with smartphone chargers and extended legrooms, and the Screen X which shows the film via multiple projectors to simultaneously create a panoramic image on the main screen and side walls. It also plans to offer a junior screen for kids, which will has a slide to allow them access to their movie.

The cinema, according to a report by Saudi Gazette, also has a private lounge, motorized reclining leather seats, and a foot rest.
