BPI to charge some online transfer, mobile app services

Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) customers will have to pay charges on some online and mobile app services.

In an advisory dated May 30, BPI said the following fees would apply starting July 1, 2019.

Bank to bank transfers will now be Php50 per transaction and transfers to un-enrolled third party account will have a P10 charge, BPI said in an advisory.

BPI encouraged their customers to enroll in a 3rd party account/s to continue enjoying fund transfers at no cost.

You have two options to enroll an account, first, visit any Branch of BPI or BPI Family Savings Bank branch near you to enroll third party accounts or visit their website bpi.com.ph then select Personal, click services, go to Transfer funds and enroll to Third Party Accounts, after these steps, download, print, sign, and mail complete form.

The transfer to un-enrolled accounts through a QR code will remain free of charge, but only for a limited time, while dollar to peso transfer and transfer to own and enrolled accounts remain free, it said.

QR code is a service where you may transfer funds to any BPI/BFB account or BPI prepaid card by scanning or importing the recipient’s QR code and you can transfer funds to un-enrolled third party accounts real time and no need to enter the account number.
