Pinatubo survivors give back to victims of Taal Volcano eruption

The survivors of Mt. Pinatubo eruption in 1991 has extended their help to the residents of Batangas amid the Taal Volcano unrest.
A couple named Henry and Nora Silvano shared with ABS-CBN News the unforgettable experience caused by the volcanic eruption.
“Talagang parang ang Pinatubo ang nakikita ko doon sa Taal na ‘yan,” Henry said.
“Ang hirap talaga ng nangyari noon,” Nora added.
Meanwhile, Pampanga Governor Dennis Padilla, who was once a victim of the catastrophic incident, has stated the heartwarming experience after Good Samaritans helped them 29 years ago.
“We Kapampangans are paying back. Noon pong pumutok ang bulkang Pinatubo, marami po ang tumulong sa amin para iligtas kami at makabangon. Ito hong pagtulong ay pasasalamat namin,” Pineda said.
On Monday, the Pampanga Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office has provided relief items and 8,500 food packs for the survival of the victims.
They have also sent teams and volunteers to assist the evacuees within the area of the volcanic activity.
Groups from Philippine Red Cross, DPWH, local government units, and universities have also been calling the attention of citizens for donation in the coordination with their respective contact persons.
