Dubai is getting the region’s biggest Chinatown, the biggest shopping complex which will occupy the center of the real estate developer Emaar’s mega-project, Dubai Creek Harbor.
Here is the list of what’s new in the Chinese community center.
1. Marina
Positioned at the mouth of the Creek Harbor, the new Chinatown will house a marina for cruising along the bay.
2. Museum
Emaar will also include museums and cultural facilities that will appeal to Chinese visitors.
3. Cycle paths
The biggest Chinatown will also be bicycle-friendly so anyone can exercise without needing to go to the gym.
4. Shopping
Dubai’s first Chinatown will primarily be a shopping complex that will feature local and global fashion brands. The lifestyle district will also have residential neighborhoods.
5. Tallest tower
The centrepiece of the complex is the Dubai Creek Tower, which will be 100m taller than Burj Khalifa at 928m. The designer of the building, Santiago Calatrava, was inspired by the lily flower and traditional minaret. Dubai Creek Tower will also have observation decks that will offer a 360-degree view of the city.
