Emirati vlogger Khalid Al Ameri visited the Philippines to experience what the country has to offer.
Al Ameri first announced on his Facebook page that his plane has landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport with the caption: “Touchdown Manila!!”
Upon his arrival, Al Ameri immediately began interacting with locals, as seen in his video “Why Do Filipinos Smile?”
In the said video, Al Ameri tried everything that an ordinary Filipino would do on a normal day, such as riding a tricycle, buying street food, and going to the mall.
He also decided to talk to some locals and ask why Filipinos always smile.
Most of them answered that it is because of the Filipinos’ innate optimism and positive culture.
Towards the end of his video, Al Ameri also commended overseas Filipino workers who continue to be happy and positive even though they are far away from their families.
“And when you think about the Filipino people that have over 10 million overseas workers at different places around the world, imagine the courage that they have to have… the strength that they have to have to be away from the people that they love but still find happiness in the fact that they are providing for them every single day,” he said.
“They teach us all that happiness is always in our hands… it can start with something very simple, and that is a smile,” he said.
