DMW cites case vs. consultancy accused of offering unauthorized US jobs

The Department of Migrant Workers has renewed its warning against fake overseas job offers, citing the case of Visa to America Manila Inc., a travel and visa consultancy accused of offering employment opportunities in the United States without the required license from the agency.

According to the DMW, several complainants sought assistance after allegedly being promised jobs in the United States and deployment within three months.

The complainants, many of them teachers, reportedly paid between ₱370,000 and ₱500,000 for processing fees and family applications.

Applicants were allegedly assured that they would be able to leave for the United States within months.

The complaints were first brought to public attention through the program “Senator Raffy Tulfo in Action.”

The DMW said that on Aug. 1, 2025, it ordered the closure of the company’s main office in Pasig City and seven branch offices located in Cebu City, Lucena City, Iloilo City, Santiago City in Isabela, Quezon, Davao City, and Zamboanga City.

Authorities said the firm had been offering overseas employment opportunities despite lacking the necessary authorization from the government.

The agency added that several cases have already been filed and are now pending before the courts, including complaints being handled by the Regional Trial Court Branch 284 in Cabarroguis, Quirino.

The DMW urged other possible victims to come forward and file formal complaints to help hold those responsible accountable.

The agency also reminded aspiring overseas workers to verify job offers through official DMW channels and ensure that recruitment agencies possess valid licenses before paying any fees or submitting personal documents.
