Korean star Lee Jung Jae was named as Best Actor in a Drama Series for his outstanding performance in hit Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ at the 74th Emmy Awards.
He made Emmy history as the first first foreign-language actor to win the prestigious award and was also the first such actor to ever be nominated.

Jae went head to head with other veterans including Jason Bateman for Ozark, Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong — each for Succession and Adam Scott for Severance.
The actor thanked the show’s creator Hwang Dong-hyuk for making a realistic problem we all face come to life so creatively on the screen. He also commended the series for having a great script and amazing visuals.

He also thanked God, the TV Academy and Netflix for his achievement.
“That shows that the globe is just one big network now without any silos. I could really feel that. I still feel like I am living a dream,” Jae said in a Deadline report before his Emmy win.
