Pinay cosplayer Awie De Guzman had an ‘awesome’ surprise in store for netizens when she posted online photos of herself dressed up as Alexander “Trese” – the lead character in the new Netflix series “Trese.”
The Filipina cosplayer’s photos and video of her dressed up as Alexandra Trese drew online praise and comments about her portrayal of the character voiced by Liza Soberano and Shay Mitchell.
Highlighting the effort and heart she had put into this cosplay project, she said that portraying a character from an award-winning horror “komiks” — showcasing Filipino culture and mythological creatures – was a lot of pressure, but something that she was proud of.
“You guys don’t know how much preparation and heart I’ve put into this. Portraying a character from an award-winning horror komiks showcasing our Filipino culture and mythological creatures is a lot of pressure, but it is something I have taken pride of,” she said.
While congratulating the team behind “Trese,” De Guzman said that the animated series deserves to be on Netflix and to be known all over the world.
