TV personality Raffy Tulfo has pledged donations worth PHP100,000 to help ailing actor John Regala.
In his program “Idol in Action,” Tulfo interviewed Regala, who is suffering not just from financial problems, but from liver cirrhosis.
He said that he will donate PHP100,000 to help with his basic necessities and medicine.
“Sa ngayon po, magpi-pledge ako. Magbibigay ako ng isandaang libong piso at bukod pa ho diyan magbibigay ako ng gamot, groceries para sa’yo. At kung ano pa po maitutulong namin, ibibigay ko pa po,” said Tulfo.
Regala recently went viral after netizens posted photos of him in a grim condition while he was on his way for a gout injection. He said that a driver found him dizzy because he has not eaten well in 13 days.
“Malala na ang aking liver cirrhosis. Sugat-sugat na ang aking atay, at may tubig na ang aking tiyan at kailangang matanggal,” he said. “Ako po ay nahihiya pero kakapalan ko na po ang mukha ko. Bawat tao naman po ay dumadaan sa ganitong sitwasyon. Sana po kung hindi naman kalabisan sa inyo, pakitulungan naman po ako. Nagpapakumbaba po ako ng labis labis. Gusto ko lang po talagang makapaghanapbuhay.”
In addition, a netizen revealed after his conversation with the actor that he has been alone since his wife left him.
