Former ‘Magnifico’ child actor Jiro Manio was arrested by Marikina Police Saturday for alleged frustrated homicide.
Manio reportedly tried to killed a man on Friday night when they crossed paths in a street near the carinderia where the actor was working.
He allegedly stabbed the victim identified as Zeus Doctolero thrice.
However, Manio claimed that it was Doctolero who hurt him first by hitting him with a helmet.
Doctolero was brought to the hospital while Manio was brought to the police station.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the altercation between Manio and Doctolero.
Manio rose to stardom when won back to back acting awards for the 2003 film ‘Magnifico’. He also became controversial when he entered a rehabilitation center in 2011. In 2015, he was spotted loitering around NAIA.
