Veteran actor Eddie Garcia’s 70 year stint in show business industry proved how the actor manage to keep good relations to his co-workers and to the people in front and behind the camera.
“I need to give my best because this will be the recommendation for my next job,” the late actor said in one his past interviews.
On the second day of his wake, celebrities continued to pour in and pay their respects to Garcia. Some of them were former on screen partner of Garcia in his more than 300 films.
Lorli Villanueva or more popularly known as ‘Maxima Labandera’ was a character actress in the 80s. She says she would always play Garcia’s dominating wife.
“He was my husband in many films we had so much fun together even before sa mga shooting namin sa location kaya lang I went abroad hindi ko na siya nakita,” Villanueva said.
Villanueva added that she even went to Makati Medical Center last Thursday to give a special gift to Garcia but wasn’t allowed the actor’s room. Garcia died a few minutes after Villanueva left.
Gloria Sevilla, Garcia’s leading lady in the movie ‘Boy Golden’ remembered how the actor took care of her in shooting one daring scene.
“He’s truly a gentleman napakabait very respectful,” Sevilla said.
Before flying abroad, actress Dina Bonnevie also made a quick stop to Garcia’s wake. She said that the actor and director gave her the first Best Actress award for ‘Magdusa Ka’
“He made a lot of contributions to the industry. I respect him a lot and I’ll always love him,” she said.
A ‘Kapamilya tribute’ was also held on the second day of his wake. Public viewing ends Sunday at 6PM.
