Did Lani Mercado send random message to husband, Bong Revilla’s detractor?

It seems actress-politician Lani Mercado took the time to personally send a message to a critic of her husband, Bong Revilla.

As seen in a blog post by entertainment website Fashion Pulis, an unknown Facebook user has been sharing news articles and photos to question why Revilla was still among the front-runners in the senatorial race despite having been convicted due to plunder.

After the netizen posted his online rant, a Facebook user with the name Jesusa Victoria H. Bautista sent him a message.

Bautista told the netizen to review her “husband’s” case and the decision of the Sandiganbayan about it.

“I read your comment, [name withheld]. I just hope that you have read the Sandiganbayan decision on the case of my husband. Four and a half years for someone to be put in a Custodial Center and being bashed till this very day is no joke. But it’s okay. Prayed for people like you. God will take care of the rest. God bless,” Bautista’s message to the netizen reads.

In December 2018, Revilla was acquitted by Sandiganbayan of plunder which was linked to pork barrel scam of Janette Lim Napoles.

He was detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame, Quezon City for four years since 2014.

After his acquittal, Revilla decided to run for senator and is expected to win as he placed 11th in the most recent poll results.

According to her Facebook profile, Bautista lives in Bacoor, Cavite and was a representative of the second district of Cavite. She also claimed to be the “First Lady Mayor of the City of Bacoor”. She also has a photo of Revilla as her profile picture.

Because of the information on her Facebook profile and the fact that she called Revilla her “husband”, many believed that it was Mercado herself who sent the message to the netizen.

However, neither Revilla nor Mercado has confirmed the authenticity of the message.

Meantime, Mercado will remain mayor of Bacoor, Cavite for another term as she has won her electoral bid in the city.
