Maine Mendoza lambastes fake tweet claiming she called Vice Ganda’s movie “nonsense”

Kapuso actress Maine Mendoza blasted a fake malicious tweet which claimed that she called Kapamilya comedian Vice Ganda’s movie “nonsense”.

Mendoza’s movie titled “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles” which also stars Vic Sotto and Coco Martin is battling Vice Ganda’s “Fantastica” for the top spot of the box-office rankings.

The fake tweet shows Mendoza criticizing “Fantastica”, dubbing it as the “most nonsense movie of all time”.

It also shows a fake reply from Vice Ganda which reads: “Thanks for watching. Haven’t seen your movie yet. Mukha kasing wala ring kwenta.”

Mendoza then took to Twitter to explain that she has never posted such tweet and that the photo is edited.

“Yikes! Paskong pasko wala pa ding magawang matino yung ibang tao. This is edited, guys. Pero nood nalang din kayo Jack Em Popoy at Fantastica para happy tayong lahat,” she said.

Both “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles” and “Fantastica” are part of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival which started on December 25.

During the awarding ceremony of the film festival, “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles” won Best Float, Best Editing, and the FPJ Memorial Award. “Fantastica”, on the other hand, received no recognition.

Joel Lamangan’s film “Rainbow’s Sunset” was the night’s big winner receiving 11 of the 24 awards, including Best Picture, Best Production Design, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor for Tony Mabesa, Best Actress for Gloria Romero, and Best Supporting Actress for Aiko Melendez.
