Jessica Sanchez to work with Regine Velasquez?

Fans are hoping that “American Idol” season 11 first runner-up Jessica Sanchez will work with Regine Velasquez for the Philippine adaptation of the same singing competition where Sanchez was discovered.

It all started when Sanchez congratulated Velasquez after she transferred networks to ABS-CBN from GMA-7 after nearly two decades.

Sanchez also thanked Asia’s Songbird for rooting for her when she was competing in “American Idol”.

“Big congrats to Miss Regine Velasquez on the big news. Thank you for being amazing and also for rooting for me when I was on Idol! Can’t wait to see you as a judge on Phil Idol (sic),” she wrote on Twitter.

Velasquez replied to Sanchez’s tweet saying that it was her who was truly deserving to win the competition. Sanchez joined “American Idol” back in 2012 and ended as a runner-up after losing to American folk-rock singer Phillip Phillips.

“You should’ve been the winner but even so to all of us Filipinos, YOU ARE THE WINNER. I’m proud of you and thank you,” Velasquez replied.

Replying once again to Velasquez, Sanchez wrote: “Thank you love! Hopefully we run into each other next time I’m in the Philippines. Love you.”

After their Twitter exchange, many fans are hoping that they will be working together for “Idol Philippines”, which will be one of Velasquez’s projects with the Kapamilya network.

There were also some who would like to hear a duet from them.

In a virtual interview with PEP.ph, Sanchez said that she has not been offered any role in “Idol Philippines”, but she would love to be part of it in case she will receive an invitation.

“I haven’t been told anything about being a part of Idol, but I would love to be a part of Idol if I was invited.

“I had such an amazing experience during my season on idol and it would be great to experience that feeling again,” Sanchez said.
