Filipino singer Morissette Amon will be returning to Dubai this coming August to stage a one-night-only concert at Zabeel Hall 2, Dubai World Trade Centre on August 17, as part of her show called “Morissette is Made”.
Fellow Filipino singer Sam Concepcion will be joining her as a guest performer.
For her Dubai concert, she is expected to sing some hits from her album, including “Throwback” and “Diamante”.
This isn’t the first time Amon will be staging a concert in the UAE. She has previously performed in Abu Dhabi with her group, ASAP Birit Queens which is composed of her, Angeline Quinto, Jonalyn Viray, and Klarisse de Guzman, back in April 2017.
The young singer, dubbed as “Asia’s Phoenix”, first appeared on Philippine television at the age of 14 through the singing competition Star Factor, where she finished as a runner-up. She then rose to prominence when she competed in the first season of
The Voice Philippines under Sarah Geronimo’s team.
Thanks to her powerful vocal and distinctive whistle register, many have considered her to be the Philippine version of American diva Mariah Carey.
Amon also became an internet sensation and a favorite among international YouTube reactors because of her covers of different hit songs, such as Mariah Carey’s “Against All Odds”, Andra Day’s “Rise Up”, and Little Mix’s “Secret Love Song”.
