Sharon Cuneta is gushing over a “precious” video message from Pres. Rodrigo Duterte which she posted on Instagram last Saturday.
Cuneta, a self-confessed fan of Duterte, said that she will treasure the kind words of the president “forever”.
The actress shared the video on Instagram with the caption: “Wow. Thank you very much, Mr. President, Sir, my ‘Tatay Digong!!!’” she said.
“All politics aside and with all due respect to my husband who so understands my ‘wala akong pakialam sa politika, I got this precious gift of a message (taken a few evenings ago) from President Rodrigo Duterte himself!!!”
Duterte referred to the megastar as his good friend and added that his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte was her “avid” supporter.
“My daughter Sara eh talagang ina-idolize ka hanggang ngayon. I’m happy that she has chosen the right person to be the inspiration,” Duterte said.
In response, Cuneta wished the president well and thanked him for setting aside the political affiliations of their respective families.
“God bless you po. May our Father in heaven guide you and lead you only to what will make our country great” she said.
“One day, I shall sing your favorite ‘Ikaw’ for you!” she added.
Despite her husband being part of the opposition Liberal Party, Cuneta said she and the Davao City Mayor have been friends since 2012.
Recently, the megastar has been the talk of the town after she and her ex-husband Gabby Concepcion reunited in a new commercial ad.
