They say that the wedding day is one of the happiest moments in a bride’s life—but one of them chose otherwise and not for the reason you would expect.
The heart-touching photograph, featuring an unusually teary-eyed bride named Roslyn and her groom Adrian, captured the hearts of millions all around the globe not only for its beauty but also for its story.
James Day, a Sydney-based wedding photographer narrated in a Facebook post how the iconic shot came to be. Originally setting up the couple for a “grand sunset scene”, Day decided to take a snap of the portrait of the couple. He asked them to abandon their initial poses and just enjoy their first sunset as husband and wife.
Day instructed the groom to whisper his answer solely to his wife: “Out of the billions of people on the planet, you’ve chosen to spend the rest of your life with Roslyn. Can you tell her why?”
“In a matter of moments I could start seeing Roslyn’s eyes glisten,” Day related, confessing that he also found himself in tears.
The photo has since received over 230,000 likes and 53,000 shares on Facebook.
