UAE career growth ba gusto mo? Heto na yun!

The Philippine Embassy has signed a deal up with a private

company for the first-ever, TESDA-accredited competency assessment center

in Abu Dhabi, with credentials of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who made

it, planned to be honored by the UAE National Qualification Authority (NQA).

A TESDA training center is also being planned to be opened this year,

according to Labor Attaché Ophelia Almenario.

“We are currently promoting the opening of the first TESDA-accredited

assessment center, Orient Management Consulting and Training,” Almenario

told The Filipino Times in a signed official letter.

She said interested OFWs may register at the embassy’s Philippine Overseas

Labor Office (POLO) by filling up Manpower Profile and Application Form;

and a Self-Assessment Guide.

After doing so, an evaluation follows of which the result, a list of prospective

candidates, shall be forwarded to the Technical Education and Skills

Development Authority (TESDA) with a request for a TESDA representative to

come to the UAE for the assessment.

OFWs in the following skills qualify for the TESDA competency assessment:

 Housekeeping

 Bookkeeping

 Food and Beverage

 Front office staff

 Customer services

 Trainers methodology

 Events management services

 Visual graphics designing

 Technical drafting (mechanical)

 Technical drafting (structural)

“In effect, by increasing OFWs’ credibility and employability, skills

competence upgrading, boosting their credentials…, the TESDA certificates

will soon be honored by the UAE’s National Qualification Authority,”

Almenario said.

A TESDA competency certification opens more employment opportunities.
