The lone municipality in Metro Manila is now free from COVID-19 cases.
Pateros announced on December 4 that it has zero active COVID-19 cases and zero new cases. It is also the first local government unit to reach the COVID-19 free status.
The municipality has 7,957 confirmed cases, 7,840 total recoveries and 106 deaths.
Netizens lauded the efforts of Pateros including the leadership of Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce.

Magpa-alala sa taong bayan ukol sa Covid.. God bless Pateros! Ingat pa rin po tayo,” a netizen said.
“Thanks God! But don’t celebrate a premature victory. The virus is still around. Dont lower our guard. Keep safe,” it added.
“Wow! Amazing! Congratulations sa ating bayan ng Pateros Covid FREE na ang Pateros ..Vaccine really works,” another netizen commented.
