Chinese vaccine manufacturer Sinovac said that its vaccine against COVID-19 is safe for children and babies as young as six months old.
Sinovac made the disclosure based on their latest data and as they move towards creating the second generation of COVID-19 vaccines.

In an interview with South China Morning Post, senior Sinovac officials revealed that the company had submitted data to the Hong Kong government over its findings on the outcome of vaccination among children.
“So far, what we see is … there were no serious adverse reactions. It is good,“ Dr Gao Yongjun, Sinovac’s medical affairs director told the Post.

Gao said that based on preliminary data, Sinovac has a “very good safety profile, and no serious adverse reaction.
In the Philippines, only Pfizer and Moderna have an emergency use authorization or EUA for vaccinating minors from the Food and Drug Administration. (TDT)
