A returning overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia unexpectedly went into labor at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 last August 5.
The Filipina, 37, delivered a healthy baby boy after her water broke 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday while processing her documents.
She was immediately assisted by members of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) who did the extra mile of facilitating the delivery of her newborn.
“PCG frontline personnel who responded to the incident led by Lieutenant Commander Francis Ariel Sualog said it was a privilege and pleasure to serve beyond their duties amid the ongoing pandemic,” PCG said in a Facebook post on Friday.
The Filipina and her newborn were brought by an ambulance to the Pasay City General Hospital.
